Draft Research Matrix

Hi Michael,

Your Research Matrix has a good range of ideas, techniques, technologies and concepts embedded into it. It doesn't include much in the way of directly engaging with the public and ideas around human movement that you mentioned in a recent email ... but that could be used to refine some of the issues as it currently exists.

Feel free to develop the matrix, I was expecting this to happen.

If you do more directly engage with the public you may need ethics approval ... I can help you with that as I am the faculty ethics committee convenor. The videos you show in later posts of the people playing Crysis2 in the streets are particularly inspiring ...

When you use indesign to create an interactive presentation you should also think about using it to actually create architecture ... I can imagine plans and sections (and other drawings) being constructed as the person engages with your presentation. These might even be something different than you have imagined ... take a look at MrDoob Harmony for a HTML5 drawing application ... it's not the same, but if you mixed the ideas together you could get something particularly spectacular.

You need a few more images in your Matrix to confirm the intent of the listed parameters/topics ... images to describe/extend the ideas such as Operative Diagrams, Flying Machines, Curve Formation and Module investigation ...

Cheers, a good start

Michael,
it might be worth looking into cellular automata since you are interested in pixelation. the growth algorithms are capable of generating forms similar to the Skyvillage that you showed.

Russell: will do, I am currently going to add a few more ideas onto my matrix, and in the future, I am thinking some of them can be combined or discarded to make up my final matrix

PK: Thank you for your suggestion, I will look into it!! :D
